Introduction
We are committed to
provide access to all our customers wishing to use Pulse 8 Health and Fitness
Club.

Car park has 5 widened spaces (3.2metres wide with access to rear) designated
for disabled parking located immediately by the Pulse 8 reception.
• The
car park and outside access surfaces are all tarmac.

bowls can be provided for service dogs on request.

8.00am - 9.00pm Saturday and Sundays.
Please note all facilities close 15 minutes prior to the closing times

Lighting
Lighting throughout
the club is a combination of natural light, compact fluorescent, low voltage
spot lights and discharge lighting.

Spa
Pool Access
Access to this pool
is all on one level from the changing rooms, the entrance door is 100cm
wide. Access to the pool is by 5 steps
with a central handrail. The pool is
1.3 metres in depth and operates at a temperature of between 34 – 36 degrees Celsius,
therefore is not suitable for certain medical conditions. If you have any concerns please check with
your medical advisor or contact the Club prior to your visit.
This pool has
powerful hydrotherapy jets situated throughout the pool, please note these do
create a current at some areas in the pool so caution may be required when
approaching them.
Pool
Hoist
A portable pool hoist is available for access
to the Spa pool. Pre booking is required prior to your visit.
Steam
Room and Sauna facilities
Both the Sauna and
Steam room are mixed sex facilities situated adjacent to the Spa pool. Due to
the heat certain medical contra-indications apply. If you have any concerns please check with your medical advisor
or contact the Club prior to your visit.
• Sauna – Access is by a door 65cm
wide. The seating is fixed on two
levels 50cm and 96cm from floor level.
• Steam Facilities – Access is by a door
65cm wide. The seating platform is on
two levels 40cm and 80cm high.
Gym
Facilities
• The
Gym is sectioned into various zones, most of which are ground floor level, with
the use of access ramps for when the floor level varies in height. The Ladies Only Gym is situated on the first
floor accessible via a 14 step wooden staircase with handrail on either
side. For customers with reduced
mobility the Wellness Zone is a ground floor accessible training area.
The Gym has an
extensive range of equipment including cardiovascular, resistance and core /
stability equipment. Please ask one of
our qualified Fitness team for assistance, one to one appointments available,
bookable at reception.
All access routes and
doorways within the gym are all at least 80cm wide. Internal doors in the gym are kept open (emergency release) with
the exception of the Cardio / X-Bike room which is accessible by a 90cm single
door.
Treatment
Room/s
The Treatment rooms are located off the Cafe
Bar, access is all one level from Reception.
Access to the rooms is by a double door (86cm each leaf) and then a
single doorway at 76cm wide. Within
each room there is at least 1 metre free to the side of the couch to allow
manoeuvring of wheelchairs.

tailored to individual needs – for advice about our treatments and products
please contact the treatment team.
Crèche
The crèche is
situated at the end of the main access corridor next to the sports hall. The crèche is located on the lower ground
floor by a steep ramp. Access ramps are
in use where the floor level varies leading along the main corridor to the
crèche. The entrance door is 80cm wide.
Cafe
Bar
• The
Cafe bar is an open plan area situated on two levels. The Upper level is level access from the reception area. A low level counter is situated at the far
end of the Bar at 85cm high. There are
2 steps to access the lower level. The
entrance doors are all 90cm wide. All
tables and chairs are movable so can be adjusted to your requirements. The tables are either 47cm or 70 cm high
with a central support column. The
chairs are in three difference styles, the chairs and bucket style seating /
sofas are all 46cm high and the bar stools 76cm high.
The Patio area is
accessed from the lower section of the Cafe Bar by a double door (each leaf
77cm wide) and down 2 steps. The Patio
is furnished with ‘garden’ style tables and chairs. All furniture is movable; the chairs are 45cm high and the tables
70cm high.
Exercise
Class / Studio areas
The exercise classes
are held in 4 main areas within the club.
Pre booking is not required for classes other than the aqua classes
which are limited to a maximum of 20, bookable at Reception. For advice on suitable exercise classes
please see the Fitness team.
Studio – The main exercise studio is situated on the first floor access is by
a 19 step staircase with a handrail on either side. The entrance door is a double doorway, each leaf is 76cm wide.
Aqua Studio – The aqua classes are held in the Spa pool. (please see Spa pool
section for access details)
X Bike
– The X Bike studio is located within the gym, the bikes are situated on a
raised platform which is accessed by three steps, the entrance door is 90cm
wide.
Sports Hall – The Sports hall is located at the end of the main access corridor,
access ramps are in use where the floor level varies. The entrance door is 80cm
wide, which is permanently kept open.
Badminton
The badminton courts
are located within the sports hall (see previous section for access
details). Bookings can be made at
Reception.
Changing
Facilities / W.C.
• There
are 2 mens and 1 ladies changing area situated on the ground floor, these are
level access throughout. In addition
there is a second ladies changing room which is situated on a second floor
above the Ladies only gym. This
changing room is accessible by a 15 step spiral staircase (handrails on either
side) from the Ladies only gym.
• There
are two individual changing cubicles situated in both the ladies changing
rooms, both have a 57cm wide access door and 45cm high bench seat.
• There
are bench seats provided throughout the changing areas with a 45cm high seating
platform.
• There
are high and low lockers for use, with hooks.
• The
shower cubicles have a minimum of 57cm wide access doors.
• All
floors are slip resistant
Disabled
Changing Room / Toilets
There are two unisex
disabled changing room / toilets situated next to the entrance to the changing
rooms. Access is all on one level from
reception. Both rooms have a 90cm wide
entrance door. Each facility includes a
toilet with seat height of 42cm with lower back support. On either side of the toilet is a double removable hand rail at 44cm &
64cm high on one side and two wall
mounted handrails on the opposite side, a vertical rail starting 90cm high and
a horizontal handrail at 77cm high.
The shower has a fold-up seat at 50cm and handles to assist at 80cm and
1.4 metre with the shower controls situated at 1.10 metres high. Hooks are provided at 1.28 metres and a
large low level mirror on the back of the entrance door. The low level basin is 74cm high. In case of an emergency the room is equipped
with an emergency pull cord to alert reception. Low level lockers are situated immediately outside from the
entrance door.
Outdoor Facilities
• We
have 6 tennis courts available for use.
Access is by the car park and is one level from Nirvana East Reception,
Please see reception if you wish to make a booking.
Additional Information
• All
staff are fully trained in customer service, if you require assistance at any
stage during your visit please ask a member of staff.
• The
fire evacuation procedure allows for assisting customers with reduced mobility
or hearing. Staff are fully trained to
evacuate customers if the alarm sounds.
If you have a special request if evacuation occurs please tell reception
on arrival. Service dogs (only) are
allowed in most parts of the club. We
request that dogs do not enter the water facilities throughout the club.
Carers
If you require a
carer in order to facilitate your visit, access only will be permitted without any additional charge but
pre booking is required.
